Sara Najam

Sara was an undergraduate student in Science at Brooklyn College class of 2013. She was in lab from July 2010 until August 2011. Sara worked tirelessly during all her summer/winter breaks and throughout the school year with Su-Yi on the role of b-catenin function in Dermal Papilla niche cells.

Anita received her B.S. degree in Biochemistry from New York University. She joined the lab in September 2010 with an interest in pluripotency reprogramming of Dermal Papilla Niche cells. She graduated with a Master of Science in August 2011 and then joined the 2011 Class at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYCOM).

Samantha was an undergraduate student in Science and Engineering for Bioengineering at U Penn class of 2013. She was in the lab July/August 2011 as a Sinai PROP (Premed Research Opportunities Program) student. Samantha worked with Amelie on Dermal Papilla niche heterogeneity.

Rita received her B.S. in Biochemistry and her Ph.D. from the University of Porto and the Institute of Pathology and Molecular Immunology (IPATIMUP) in Porto, Portugal. She was in the lab from February 2011 until May 2011. Her research focused on transcriptional targets in Dermal Papilla niche cells.

Sayeed was an undergraduate student in Biology at NYU class of 2011. He was in the lab during summer 2010 as a Sinai PROP student. He continued to come to lab during his senior year finishing with a thesis in April 2011. Sayeed worked with Carlos on the transcriptional control of Dermal Papilla niche cells. He is now a medical student at UNC Chapel Hill.

Chen was a sophomore high school student from Hunter College High class of 2012. He joined the lab in summer 2010, and continued to come to lab throughout the school year until Spring 2011. Chen worked with Laura Grisanti on establishing novel Cre tools to target Dermal Papilla niche cells. With his work he was a NYCSEF science fair finalist in NY state.

Melanie received her B.S. in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA. After a Cancer Research Fellowship at NCI she joined the Ph.D Class of 2010 at Mount Sinai. Jay received his B.S. in Biological Sciences from Sun Yat-sen University in Taiwan and his M.S. in Biotechnology from UC Irvine. Jay joined the Ph.D Class of 2010 at Mount Sinai. During his laboratory rotation he worked with Carlos Clavel on the fate specification of Dermal Papilla niche cells.

Britta joined the lab for 9 months from January to September. She was a Master student from University of Utrecht, Netherlands, and worked with Su-Yi to move forward the DP to iPS reprogramming efforts. Britta finished her Masters and started her PhD studies in The Netherlands.

Soo Kim, B.S.

Soo was Michael's first technician. Soo was a Stanford under-graduate who was instrumental in getting the lab up and running. She was in charge of the mouse colonies and lab organization, and the resident expert in immunostaining. Soo joined the Medical Class 2010 at Mount Sinai.
